Having been founded in 1972, we just celebrated our thirty third year. For me, it is actually half a lifetime ago! From our humble beginnings in a small warehouse in Melbourne, Florida, our growth has been nothing less than phenomenal.
Besides spending almost half of my life at Classic, I was in the lighting and furniture business since 1963 while working for my father, Alfonso Duran, as sales agents for Spanish lighting and furniture manufacturers. That is why Classic's very first collection happened to be the Barcelona Bronze and Crystal series that is still available today. Coincidentally, at this 2005 Winter Market, we introduced the Madrid series which is a take-off of this Barcelona collection but utilizing crystal columns and bobeches, a variety of crystal trim and added the Roman Bronze finish.
Being a prime source of "classic" lighting styles, we always strived to bring to the marketplace decorative styling from years past but made functional and safe by meeting all the latest UL standards thus the perfect union of old world charm with today's latest technology.
In this catalog we bring you more historically conceived lighting but modernized to meet the more carefree lifestyles and decorative schemes. We have taken the basic designs of traditional lighting and combined them with more contemporary crystal and finishes.
No series emulates this trend better than our Via Veneto collection and its sister series, Via Firenze. Their unprecedented success only proves that the design, crystal trim and finishes were very well accepted by all who have bought these.
Look over the new variations of our basic crystal groupings such as the Maria Theresa and Versailles, utilizing new crystal cuts and designs, hand-made Murano glass colorful tear drops and fruit accents plus new crystal colors and finishes such as most affordable Italian Rock crystal, hand-decorated Antique Italian, tortoise shell, sandstone crystal and much more.
There are completely new collections inspired by today's furnishings, colors and decorating schemes. The repertoire includes the wispy Italian Florentine and Beverly Hills, the Spanish gothic Merlot, historical Parisian, colorful, dainty Brussels, whimsical Danube, contemporary Uptown, Diamante, Solitaire, Crown Jewels and many others.
In addition, what seems like a departure from what we are known for, we have what sculptured works of art in bronze branches, Murano glass leaves and alabaster bowls in Autumn Leaves, Harvest Moon and Morning Dew groupings.
